David Miner, MD, believes that quality medical care is about more than standalone appointments. "I chose the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology because it permits me to get to know patients as people, and to develop relationships over months and years," Dr. Miner explained. "I believe building relationships like that helps improve patient care."
A love of science drew Dr. Miner to the field of medicine in general. "I have always enjoyed science and wanted to use it to help people," he said. "Obstetrics and gynecology allows me to help patients with a wide range of issues, keeping every day interesting.
"I strive to listen to my patients' concerns, and then look for the best treatment for them as an individual," he continued. "For instance, I always explore minimally invasive surgery options if surgery is necessary so my patients can benefit from shorter recovery times and can get back to their lives as quickly as possible."
Dr. Miner and his wife have five children, ranging from teenagers to preschoolers. "We love going to parks or on hikes with all the kids," Dr. Miner said. "When we're not all together, I like to stay active on my own by going to the gym or taking some time to relax by reading or cooking."
