Melissa Y. Tharpe, WHNP-BC
Winston Salem State University, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Emory University School of Medicine, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate
Melissa Tharpe has been serving patients since 1998 as a board certified women’s health nurse practitioner. This specialty spoke to her due to her love of providing care for women as well as her prior experience working as a nurse in labor and delivery. Melissa began with NH WomanCare in March of 2016 and continues compassionate care and providing a remarkable patient experience.
Her focus and passion is on adolescent females as well as perimenopausal and menopausal women. Melissa says that at the end of the day, “…I like to know that I made some type of positive influence in my patient’s lives and their overall wellbeing. To feel I might be of some type of benefit to women and their health is what drives my practice.” She makes an effort to develop personal relationships with her patients in order to provide the level of care each patient deserves.
When she is not working, she spends time with her husband and their two children, Ava and Palmer. She enjoys spending family time playing golf, being outdoors and relaxing with her children and their two dogs.
Melissa hopes to leave all her patients with at least one take away; that she has a genuine desire to help them feel at ease as they have their OB and GYN experiences.
