Biography

Pamela Oliver, MD, FACOG, has enjoyed math and science from a young age. When her father began a battle with cancer, she knew how she wanted to pursue those interests. "I realized in high school when my father was fighting leukemia that I wanted to be a doctor," she recalled. "I admired the relationships he had with his physicians, and I wanted to feel like I could impact someone's life the way his doctors impacted his life.

When she headed to medical school, Dr. Oliver quickly realized her passion was women's care. "I love the field, and I especially love doing procedures and surgeries," she said. "As one of two providers in our practice who perform robotic surgery, I treat a lot of women with fibroids, endometriosis and menstrual abnormalities. But I also love taking care of adolescents and continuing to take care of women during pregnancy."

Dr. Oliver has spent nearly a decade at Novant Health WomanCare. "My favorite part of our practice is the people," Dr. Oliver said. "We have an outstanding group of physicians and nurse practitioners, and a midwife who is simply remarkable. As a team, we strive to stay on top of what is best for the quality of patient care."

Dr. Oliver has two sons and a daughter, and spends much of her time outside of work reading books, exploring nature or traveling with them. "I love to find fun activities that keep them active," she said. "And if those activities wear them out so they sleep better, I enjoy them even more!"
