Menopause & hormone information

As you age, changes in your hormones can be unpleasant or uncomfortable. They can also affect your overall health. Whether you are going through menopause or dealing with the hormonal changes leading up to it, the providers at Novant Health WomanCare are here to answer your questions and, when possible, offer relief.

Symptoms commonly experienced during menopause include:

  • Hot flashes
  • Menstrual changes
  • Emotional & sexual changes
  • Increase in heart disease & osteoporosis risk

In some cases, hormone replacement therapy can lessen menopause symptoms. HRT can also help patients suffering from pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). If you would like to learn more about hormone replacement therapy, please call our office at 336-765-5470.

Nutritional needs change during and after menopause. The certified dietitians at Novant Health WomanCare can advise you on new dietary needs. Click here to learn more about our certified dietitians.
